Continued high assistance flows to South East Europe
June 9, 2005 (updated)
In February 2005, the
Joint Office conducted, once again, an annual regional donor polling
exercise and gathered information on actual and estimated donor
financial flows to South East Europe in 2004-2005. The results,
published today, are available in two documents available below.
The polling exercise
has revealed that significant amounts continue to flow into the
Region as a whole (more than € 6 billion per year), with the main
source of funding shifting from grants by bilateral donors and the
EC to loans by the international financial institutions (IFIs). In
2005 and 2006, loans are expected to be higher than grants.
