Humanitarian needs for Kosovo are being addressed by various humanitarian agencies and NGOs. The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) is coordinating these activities.

The following table shows in financial terms the progress made in spending donor support for humanitarian needs that had been pledged at the two donors' conferences held in July and November 1999.

The information below is provided for those interested in Kosovo's humanitarian needs directly following the crisis and last Winter for historic or research reasons. Those seeking up to date information, however, should contact humanitarian agencies directly. 

Special efforts had been made to support the people of Kosovo last Winter. Emergency housing repair kits were distributed, as well as temporary accommodation, food, clothing and fuel. See Winterization in Kosovo 1999.
