Some of the documents on our site are in Portable Document Format
(pdf). To view these documents you will require a software program
called Adobe Acrobat Reader, freely downloadable from the Adobe
website. You can click
here to download this software.
Some of the pdf
files are very large, especially those containing graphics. As a
result, it may take a certain amount of time to download a file.
If you click on a link to a pdf file and nothing happens for a
while, please be patient - the file should be being downloaded.
However, if nothing
still happens, the problem may be that your browser does not have
correctly configured plug-in settings. Another problem that might
happen with some browsers is that once you open a pdf file you may not be able to save it.
In both cases, the easiest remedy is to go
to the link to the pdf file, and instead of
opening it, click on the link with right mouse
button and choose "Save Target As.." (in Internet
Explorer - figure 1) or "Save Link As..." (in Netscape -
figure 2). A standard "Save As..." dialogue box
will appear, and all you have to do it to choose the location on
your drive where the file is to be saved. Then you will have
a copy of the pdf file saved on your
disk, and you can easily open it.
