Media Advisory
The European
Commission and the World Bank will co-chair a Donors’ Conference
for the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (FRY) in Brussels on June 29.
At the Conference,
the European Commission and the World Bank will present an Economic
Recovery and Transition Programme (ERTP) for the FRY (report
available on: http://www.seerecon.org/FRYugoslavia/ERTP/index.html).
The ERTP, which was prepared by the World Bank and the European
Commission in close consultation with the FRY Government and those
of its Republics, outlines a comprehensive structural reform agenda,
including sectoral policy reforms and priority public investments,
as well as identifying urgent balance of payments / budget needs for
2001. Donors will be invited to pledge external financing required
to meet these needs.
