Donors to Focus on Albania
Consultative Group Meets on March
1, 2001 in Brussels

Albania will be the focus of donor discussions at
the G24/Consultative Group Meeting to take place on March 1, in
Brussels, co-chaired by Ms. Catherine Day, Deputy Director General,
External Relations, European Commission, and Mr. Christiaan Poortman,
Country Director and Regional Coordinator for Southeast Europe,
World Bank.
The meeting will review progress in the economic,
structural and institutional reform program. It will also discuss
progress by Albania in preparing its Growth and Poverty Reduction
Strategy, as well as the European Commission’s support to the
Stabilization and Association Process. The Government will present
its Medium-Term Expenditure Framework. Ongoing and intended donor
programs for 2001-2003 will also be discussed.
