Transport Facilitation Program in Southeast Europe (TTFSE) |

Objective: |
The objective of
the TTFSE Programme is to address issues concerning movements
of persons and goods across borders in the region, covering
Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Former
Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, and Romania. In particular,
the projects aims to reduce costs to trade and transport,
reduce smuggling and corruption at border crossings,
strengthen regional partnerships and expand trade. |

Description: |
The project includes improved
personnel management at border posts, harmonisation of
procedures at borders, optimisation of use of existing facilities, and co-operation between government and the private
sector, especially the trading and transport community. |

Economic/Financial Justification: |
The benefits of
improved cross-border co-operation are high compared with the
involved costs. |
