Title:

Railways – sections of corridor Vc

Objective:

The project objective is to return the Corridor Vc railway axis passing through Slavonia to an adequate operational status allowing resumption of freight and passenger traffic. The project is linked to a similar rehabilitation in Bosnia and Herzegovina along the same corridor connecting with the Adriatic port of Ploce. In the north, the project connects with the Hungarian railway system to Budapest.

Description:

Railway line section Beli Manastir (near Hungarian border) – Vrpolje (on main Zagreb-Belgrade line):
  • Modernization of signaling and telecommunications
  • Electrification
  • Provisional of control facilities at border crossings

Economic/Financial Justification:

The line could play quite an important role as a main connection of Eastern Croatia with Bosnia-Herzegovina and Hungary
