Objective:

Emergency operation to restore serviceability of the main route connecting the Port of Durres and Kosovo and of the Berat-Corovode road, both of which were damaged during the Kosovo conflict

Emergency road repair works on 221 km, provision of equipment and training and consulting services.

Project approved by the World Bank’s Board of Directors

Economic/Financial Justification:

High economic profitability. No direct revenue earning entities.

Cost:

USD 14.46 million

World Bank loan for USD 13.65 million signed
Government of Albania USD 0.81 million
