The Joint European Commission/World Bank Office
for South East Europe has finished processing the results of the
Regional Funding Conference. The official results are now available
following a due process of analysis and clarification with donors.
Some donors have not yet allocated their funding for specific tables
or projects and others may change their allocations between the
Stability Pact Working Tables and projects following further
consultations with the countries and organizations concerned.
These results will now be assessed in greater
detail, lead agencies assigned and donor contacts launched. For
Working Tables 1 and 3, the Stability Pact is assessing the donor
funding with the specific projects to examine with the donors how
the unallocated funding could be best used, and determine if
projects should be added or dropped given the available funding.
Follow-up meetings between the World Bank, European Commission,
Stability Pact, European Investment Bank and European Bank for
Reconstruction and Development on Working Table 2, including
infrastructure and private sector development, will take place this
week and next.
The European Commission and World Bank will
report to the Working Level Steering Group on April 18, 2000 in
Washington, DC on the results of the funding conference and will
follow its guidance on follow-up to the Regional Funding Conference
within its mandate of donor coordination and aid mobilization.
