Three types of pledges will be sought from donors:
- a pledge of financial support to the South East Europe
Region as a whole over the period 2000-2001
.
This would include assistance to national country
programmes as well as financing of specific regional
programmes.
This pledge should be recorded in Table 1 of the
pledge form. This table should be submitted on, or before, the first
day of the Conference.
- pledges for QUICK START regional projects and programmes
included in the four Stability Pact lists
.
These pledges should be recorded in Table 2 of the
pledge form. Table 2 should be submitted on, or before, the second
day of the Conference.
Where possible, delegations are requested to indicate
interest in specific projects and programmes included on the
Stability Pact lists. Each programme will have a specific
project identification number which should be noted in Table
2.
- pledges for preparatory studies for NEAR TERM regional
projects and programmes included on the four Stability Pact
lists
Pledges for preparatory studies should be recorded in Table
3. This table should be submitted on, or before, the second
day of the Conference.
Where donors can already indicate interest in specific NEAR
TERM projects, they are asked to indicate the project
identification numbers in Table 3.
(Further detailed information on the pledge form is
contained in the notes and definitions section of the form.)
The pledging on the second day of the Conference for
Regional programmes and initiatives included in the Stability
Pact list is only the first step in the process of matching
donor funding with specific regional programmes. For each
project or initiative on the list, a Lead Agency will be
identified. Lead Agencies would then examine the information
supplied by donors at the Conference, and call together all
donors and agencies that have expressed an interest in a given
programme. In the weeks following the Regional Funding
Conference, the Lead Agency would then work together with all
interested donors to share additional information on the
project, and then to take forward the process of project
implementation.
