A small glossary
Phare: the
Phare programme is a European Union initiative which supports the
development of a larger democratic family of nations within a
prosperous and stable Europe.
Obnova: Obnova
means "reconstruction" in the Bosnian language. Obnova is
an EC initiative for reconstruction and rehabilitation in the former
Yugoslavia.
ECHO: European Community
Humanitarian Office.
CFSP: Common Foreign and
Security Policy.
Bosnia Herzegovina is
made up of two entities: the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina
(Croat-Bosniak) and Republika Srpska. The population of Bosnia and
Herzegovina is made up of three communities: the Bosniaks (Bosnian
Muslims), the Bosnian Croats and the Bosnian Serbs.
